Edward (Eddie) Frederick has worked as an “Image Management Consultant” in the areas of Human Resource Development, Training, Instructional Design, Public Relations and Marketing – both locally and regionally – i.e. within the Caribbean.
He founded both Career Development Foundation Grenada. Ltd. and EJA Connections Inc.
As part of his community outreach he initiated a career counseling program for secondary/high schools and a radio program for the nation geared towards affording listeners the opportunity to grab a larger vision of themselves. These programs grew to national notoriety and unfortunately due of his precipitous exit from Grenada hard at the heels of the passage of hurricane Ivan in September of 2004, the schools program was discontinued after thirteen uninterrupted years. In the case of the radio program, technology makes it possible for his efforts in that direction to be in its nineteenth year.
As a trainer, he facilitates social skills training programs and has been effective in helping local and regional tourism/hospitality industries as well as other retail/sales businesses and organizations clarify needs. Through collaboration, he develops viable solutions through hands-on interventions.
During his extensive experience, Eddie, has been retained by the following international organizations: The Caribbean Tourism Organization, The Organization of American States, Canada Training Awards Project, The European Union, Canadian International Development Agency, and the United States Embassy, Grenada.
Several Grenadian companies as well as regional (Caribbean) organizations have benefited from his expertise.
He has written some works to include a document on Grenada’s Carnival (1984), A Brief Introduction to the History of Grenada – “From Camahogne to Free Grenada” in 1982, and is in the process of completing a History of Grenada, entitled: “This Is My Island”. He was the publisher and owner of Grenada’s lone monthly personal and human resource development magazine – Well Rounded, which was distributed in Grenada (1999 – 2004).
Mr. Frederick (Eddie) has other interests – most popular among them are his deep love for motivation and public speaking and his passion for speaking out on issues of human interest and current affairs. He does so through his own weekly radio programs which he established in early September of 1989. His programs range from Lets Talk About It, to Striking A Balance, to Feel the Pulse, to Sunday Magazine, A Step Ahead to now, a program by remote called: “Public Response”. His programs guarantee captive audience because of his purpose driven energetic delivery style.
Apart from his work as a social skills trainer/consultant in the general sense of the word, he is a Certified Caribbean Hospitality Trainer, CCHT – having undergone extensive training in The Bahamas under the auspices of the Caribbean Tourism Organization in 1996. He has a keen interest in reading the right literature which adds value to his ability to deliver effectively to his audience – whether in the training room or on radio.
In 2003, Mr. Frederick joined the regional (Caribbean) speakers’ circuit and delivered the Feature Address at British American Insurance Company’s regional awards banquet at the Hilton Hotel in Port of Spain, Trinidad. Locally, he has been invited to deliver both keynote addresses and motivational pep-talks to members of the Rotary Club of Grenada, Grenada Chamber of Industry & Commerce, several Parent Teacher Associations’ meetings, High School Graduation Ceremonies, Teachers’ Symposiums and staff meetings of many workplaces. He believes in service above self and works assiduously to assist individuals meet and exceed their personal as well as career goals.
After the passage of Hurricane Ivan on September 07, 2004, which devastated 90% of the housing stock in Grenada (including his very own), Mr. Frederick made a precipitous exit from Grenada and relocated to Miami with his wife, Andrea and daughter, Joelle.
After a short period of much needed mental recuperation, in April of 2005 he joined the employ of Future TV, LC – trading as Direc4u – a leading DIRECTV dealer and became their Training Manager. He considers his feet wet enough in both the geography of South Florida and its methods to branch out on his own to offer much needed services with a fresh perspective to South Florida businesses and institutions. |
